Written by Julianne Keu | Texture Perfector™ is the latest addition to L’Oréal’s Youth Code® line. Texture Perfector claims to help improve skin texture and overall skin tone over time and claims to be suitable for all skin types. I put these claims to the test; let’s see how they fared.

Packaging

The first thing you notice is that the product comes in a pump, which is a major A+ in my books. I typically don’t care for a product’s packaging unless it affects the product’s functionality. In this case, the pump allows me to dispense just the right amount of product without dipping my fingers into the rest of the product.

Application

Texture Perfector is a serum concentrate, which is great for all-day application. Whereas creams can take a while to absorb into the skin, Texture Perfector does not. It’s easily blendable and fast-absorbing, making it the perfect pre-makeup moisturizer.

Texture/Finish

True to one of its claims, Texture Perfector does makes your skin feel incredibly smooth! This is especially important if you plan on applying makeup on top of it. A smooth, flawless canvas is crucial for flawless makeup application, so you may even use this serum in place of your usual primer. However it’s worth noting that Texture Perfector contains alcohol, which can dry the skin, especially if you have dry skin to begin with. I had no issues with this, since I have oily skin. If you have oily to combination skin, you’ll like this product. However, I have to take away points simply because the product does not live up to its claim of being suitable for all skin types.
