Written by Jessica May | Beauty should be effortless; your morning regimen should enhance your natural features, not cover them. That’s why we’ve developed a 4-step, 4-minute routine to leave you looking your natural best. Give it a try today! See the difference it makes, both inside and out.

1. Moisturize

The first step to looking gorgeous and luminous is to moisturize! Depending on the season and your skin type, the type of formula will vary, but always put on a moisturizer after removing your makeup and before bed. For dry skin, especially during the colder months, a rich lotion will ensure that you won’t have to worry about itchy dry skin or irritating dry and flaky spots. If you tend to have oilier skin, try a moisturizing gel. This will moisturize your skin while toning down that oily sheen. In the morning, instead of reaching for your thick, pore-clogging foundation, try a tinted moisturizer or BB cream instead. This will let your natural skin tone shine through while subtly correcting imperfections.

2. Tight-line

This technique may sound difficult, but once you see the result, you will wonder how you ever put on your makeup before. Tight-lining is the act of applying eyeliner to the inner part of your upper lash line to create the illusion that you have a thick, dark, and full lash line. To do this, gently lift up your upper eyelid with your finger and carefully apply the eyeliner to the lash line. The color should be perfectly blended into your lashes and will look completely natural. To ensure that this makeup is imperceptible, choose a liner the same color as your lashes, either deep black or black/brown. This will simply add emphasis to your eyes and make you look more awake and naturally gorgeous.

3. Fill in Your Brows

If I had to choose only one cosmetic item to use everyday, it would be my eyebrow kit. Brow maintenance is one of the most important parts of your daily makeup routine. If you have sparse brows, apply a tinted brow gel using an angled brush to your eyebrows. When selecting your product, make sure it matches your natural brow color. Also, don’t alter your natural brow shape; simply enhance the shape that is already there by filling in sparse spots. After applying the gel, set it with a matching powder to ensure the color stays put. For those with more full brows, you may simply need to comb your brows with a brow brush. Either way, it is important to make sure that your eyebrows look polished and put together. Trust me, it will make the rest of your face sparkle.

4. Highlight Your Features

Depending on the season and time of day, you will want to highlight your features differently, but there are a few standard rules you should always follow. In the summer, you will use a highlighting gel and bronzer. As you will look naturally tan and glowing in the summer, you want to emphasize this with your use of makeup. Simply brush the bronzer on the tops of your cheekbones, the tip of your nose, forehead, and jaw line. To finish the look, rub a pea size amount of highlighter between your fingers and dab on your cheekbones and your brow bones to create a glowing, dewy look. During the winter, swap out your bronzer for blush and only apply it to the apples of your cheeks to create a naturally flushed look.
