Designers at New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016 RTW show us that it’s about time for us to stop listening to the whispers from our dresses, pulling them on, after pulling up your favourite bottoms beneath it, and entering the style world of pretty paradox – to pants or to dress? To both.

It’s extremely tempting to keep your looks sleek, with as fewer numbers of pieces as possible. But do also remember that fall is layers-friendly, and possibly the best season to pull up your layering mixed style, apart from spring and winter, sometimes even summer. It could feel scary at first, facing the sceptical excessiveness that might or might not put your overall appeal together. But conquering such fear is not difficult at all, when you realize how easy you could get the new look from the extra layer that’s supporting you from down low. Don’t believe me? Soon you will.

WEAR THE TREND:

#1 Hybrid Business

It’s hard to decide whether it’s the pants that added up a touch of modern chic to your daily dress style, or it was the midi skirt that feminizes your strong suit. When the dress meets pants, it goes both ways. Unlike what your dresses used to tell you, they’re more to be complimenting one another, than repelling each other and making your look undefined.  Well, even the undefined style is already defined.

#2 Loosened-up Spirit with Tightened Chic

It turned out that dresses-on-pant not only sobers you up, when paired properly, they could do exactly the opposite. Be it your favourite Chloe shirtdress or the oversized shirtdress from Moschino, stepping their peppiness with the seriousness of a pair of dark denim, or pencil pants, what you’re getting is the new bon chic, bon genre you’ve been afraid to taste in the past.

#3 The Towering Elegance

How can elegance be “towering”?! It can only be so powerful and pretty at the same time when you’re armed to your legs with both dress and pants. Bare legs can’t be counted as they’re less powerful with only dress and no pants. It is only when you’re putting up the dress-pants style, are you reaching the height of elegance that’s powerful, yet not muscular; pretty yet prepared; standing tall yet still reachable. You will be surprised.
